We are mother and daugther team!
I'm Ana, the daughter, an interior decorator that rediscovered the crochet techniques to developed sustainable unique design pieces and bring warmth, comfy ambience to the homes of our clients. Since I was a little girl, I have learned knit, crochet and embroidery skills from my dear grandmother and mom. I graduated in arts and found my vocation in interior decor.
My mother Maria is an experienced and talented seamstress/modeler of the fashion industry, inheriting this art from my grandfather, his tailor father.
Our mission - create beautiful and sustainable pieces
Looping Home is a small creative studio based in Portugal. It was born out from the desire of create modern crochet design, allying the artisanal techniques with wasted yarns from the textile industries to help and supporting a sustainable environment and our planet.
We opened our first shop on Etsy in 2013 and since then we are working with all the passion creating unique items to our lovely customers.
Do you know that textile industry is one of the most polluting in the world?
In almost everything process chemicals are used, specially in the fibers treatment and dyeing. All the machinery used requires tons of energy while producing a lot of waste and disposable trash.
We believe that upcycling the materials will reduce waste and negative effects on the environment. The main material is essentially recycled yarns or produced from organic and sustainable sources. We prefer natural fibers and all materials are from certificate european industry.
T- shirt yarn is fabric surpluses from the garment collections. It is a very sturdy yarn, can be washed in the washing machine easing the daily life of any busy woman and home mother. We also work with other kind of yarns like CottonXL yarn, all recycled and eco friendly yarns of high quality.
The whole process is handmade by me and my mother at home studio, from design to packaging and shipping.
We even use non-woven bags for our wrapping packaging so that you can reuse them at home or when shopping.
